As Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel, Mary is instrumental in guiding business, legal, and operational strategies. She ensures effective communication and follow-through, while also advising on legal matters. With over a decade of experience in law, including running her own successful firm, Mary brings a nuanced understanding of both the legal and business aspects of commercial real estate.

Mary is a native of Dallas, Texas, but found her second home in Austin while attending the University of Texas, where she earned her BA in English. She received her JD from South Texas College of Law in Houston before returning to Austin to focus her legal practice on commercial real estate at Smith Robertson Elliott Douglas. There, she dealt with acquisitions, land use, leasing, and more across various asset classes. Mary later established her own firm, Elliott Stratmann, PLLC, where she continued to manage transactions totaling over $950 million and leasing activities exceeding 500,000 square feet before joining The Town Lake Company.

Mary is active in the Austin community and is a member of the Texas Bar, Austin Bar Association, the Real Estate Council of Austin, the Junior League of Austin and the Women’s Symphony League. Mary is an avid runner and enjoys spending time down on the Texas coast with her family, friends and Golden Retriever (who is aptly named Dallas).
